I was riding in the car yesterday, just sitting quietly by my husband, thinking to myself and it hapend to me again...I saw a dead dog laying along the side of the road..and I'd heard the lyrics to springsteen's song "Reason to believe" ( which is the title to my blog by the way) over and over again..It's something that happens every time i see a dead dog on the road..The lyrics say....Seen a man standing by a dead dog, by the highway in a ditch, lookin down kinda puzzled. poking that dog with a stick. had the car door flung open,out on highway 31. like if he stood there long enough, that dog would get up and run..man it struck me kinda funny, seemed kinda funny Sir to me, how at the end of every hard earned day, people find some reason to believe....it has other verses but that one always pops into my head. This song touched me in a way, that I think, made me a better person. It was over 20 years ago, that i first heard it and started listening to Springsteen.
It's funny how a writer can touch us. It's so true, no matter what happens in our lives, no matter if it's good or really bad, at the end of the day, we still seem to find a reason to believe.
