while out
and about
I saw signs
of spring...
I heard
spring sounds...
I felt
a warming
of the earth.
a turtle
crossed the road.
baby cows
and horses
stood in the fields...
the trees are budding.
the grass is turning
a bright spring green...
frogs are singing..
fish are jumping....
yes,
spring has arrived.
Mother Nature
gave up
on her love affair
with Winter.

I don't know about you,
but I caught Cabin Fever
when walls feel like their closing in..
when i'm not laughing
I sit around crying
I've got March madness again....

I took winter quite good
( well, best that i could)
and now i'm ready to change my lifestyle...
March is such a tease
telling winter to leave
then bringing Him back for awhile.

Although April's her Sister
she's not one to tease
In showers is how we will see her
She don't care if we got
cabin fever or not
She'll give us all a spring fever...

This is
the time of year
when things begin
to happen.
one must watch
closely
to find
the signs
of spring.
each new day
the sun
warms the earth...
things start to stir..
the smells are different.
the sounds are diferent.
It is not hard
to see spring
bursting through
the clutch
Of Old man winters
cold, icy, hands...
first the earth
will lay out
a green carpet...
as buds on trees
one
by
one
burst open...
then the flowers
Will push
through the ground
and seem to be
yawning......
awakened from
a long winters sleep...
they drink
fresh water
as April showers
dance around them.....
I love the sound
of tree frogs
as they sing
a song that says
winter is over..
I Anxiously
await
their
performace.

Waking early
i turn on the news
open the newspaper..
this world
seems full
of sad reminders...
parents are
killing their children..
children are
killing thir parents.
and all the while...
the war
has yet
to end.....
the price of living
goes up daily...
i struggle to find
hope in a tomorrow
full of anger
laced in fear...
Silently i wonder
why
people
let
things
happen.....

Are Ya Ready?

I'm tired of winter
and can't wait for spring
to see flowers blooming
and hear the birds sing..
I'm ready to sit
'nieth a shade tree all day
and listen to children
as they run and play....
Well it's gonna get here
(winter will go away)
But summers not all good
there are dues we must pay..
Like bugs coming out
and flying around
and poision ivy
hiding out on the ground..
there's snakes and slugs
and spiders and flies,
they all come out
with our Winter goodbyes..
insted of too cold
i'll be too hot again
I'm not complaining
(well maybe i am)
i love spring and summer
i love Autumn too
but Winter I wont miss
That much about you....
