Reason To Believe

 Bring em home....

Lord, there's a war that is raging
Help us bring our soldiers home..
Lord theres a war that is raging
we need to bring our soldiers home.
If i had some kind of power
I'd just bring them soldiers home.....

well, this old war ain't a man's war
Lord, there's women soldiers too
No, this old world ain't just a mans war
Lord there's women soliders too...
mothers & brothers
fathers and son
daughters and sisters
aunts and uncles every one....

Lord, there's a war that is raging
Help us bring us soldiers home
there's a war that's a ragin'
we need to bring our soliders home
If i had any kind of powers
I'd just bring the soldiers home...

Too many's died already,
Lord help us bring our Soldiers home
too manys died already
we need to bring them soldiers home....
I ask Lord that you guide us
so we can bring our soldiers home
Let's bring em home.....

they are our nieces and our nephews
our husbands- wives- and friends
our co-workers and neighbors
Lord it's time the violence end
I ask that you will listen
as our prayers come one by one
Agreeing that this war must end
and that it all be done.....

too manys died already
Lord let's bring our soldiers home
too manys died already
Lord it's time to bring them home...
I ask Lord that you guide us
Help us bring our soldiers home..

Poem....All Poems and lyrics on this blog was written by me.

A Little Child Shall lead...

"When is the war going to end"
he asked shaking his little head...
and I told that I didn't know
as i tucked him into bed....
"but Daddys been gone so long"
he said with big eyes looking sad..
so i sat awhile and told him how
to talk to God about his Dad.....
He bowed his little head and said
"God,Im trusting that mom's right
and you hear every prayer that's said
cause i got a special one tonight...
please look over daddy and
keep him safe and bring him home...
mom and me we miss him Lord
we want daddy to come home...
i know i'm just a little kid
and you got others praying too
but just in case you really hear
all prayers i want mine to be heard too.."
then he bowed his head again
"thank you God.....Amen""
when he feel alseep i sat and watched
him sleep like i so often do..
and I asked God to touch our lives
letting peace on Earth shine through..
but most of all I asked the Lord
to make my sons eyes laugh again
and know his dad is safely home
to hug and love Amen.......

 TAKING COUNT (POEM)

Taking Count

"Too many are homeless!"
the good people said.
"Let's open up shelters
and give them a bed"

"How many are homeless?"
asked the governments men
"we'll spend a few billion
and investigate them."

"Too many are hungry"
the good people said
"let's spend that money
to feed them instead"

"How many are hungry?"
asked the Governments men
"we'll take a few million
and investigate them"

"The winter was cold"
the good people cried
"ice and snow ( a record low)
yet many selpt outside."

"we counted quite few"
said the governments men
" But we can take a few billion
And count them again".

"There's no way to count them"
the good people said
"If they've not a place
to be sheltered and fed"

"That's not up to us"
said the governments men
"we can't afford it
our budget's too thin"

 Reason to Believe...

My Reason's to Believe........

I was cleaning out my junk room the other day & came upon my old trunk...That old black thing i've been draging around with me- ever since i went out on my own, Back in 1969, when i was 16....What's inside the trunk won't meen much to anyone, except my Daughter, who I know will take it before anything else leaves my home, once i'm no longer here...it's my poems & lyrics..Papers, notebooks. And tapes and c.d.'s of over a dozen people who have put music to some of my lyrics over the years.Often in our living room but some from all over the united states.....Some of these musicians, i never met in person, others I have met.I've never paid to have someone present my work, or create music to my work.AND on the same hand, I've never made any money from my writing (Yet Anyways)... The trunk holds the letters they sent to me & the pictres, tapes & C.D.s Post cards...Newspapers where my poems was published...I lost contact with some of the musicians, both male and female.. over the years, a few have died, but i still have them singing and playing..It was fun, I need to write some new stuff..and I believe my old stuff might still have a chance too.. ....I felt sad, that all my work was doing now, Was sitting in a old trunk, Where no one can read this work that I've done..So, I'm digging them out..and although it might seem like I've added a lot already, i ain't even touched on the Trunk yet...From 1978-2004 I wrote something, every single day....and i'm still doing it, just not as often...This is the true me...who I am and what I am......writing found me...many years ago. And it's followed me around all my life...
Someone on blogstream asked me why i didn't put pictures with the poems & lyrics..

 A Little Less (Lyric)

A Little Less.....

Out on county road 13
Tommy raised one extra cow
and there's a church up in the holler
feeding it to the poor right now.
Tommy's feeling guilty
knowing all that's left for him
but Tommy's on the right road
he gave he'll give again

Tommy said I could all do a little more
stretch anouther dollar bill
and feed the hungry, house the poor
I could do a little less
for the one at my address
a little less could do a whole lot more.

Hazel up on Mill street
makes quilts she sells a few.
all her kids and grandkids, help out too
and for every one they sell
she gives one to to shelter
the shelter down on 2nd Ave.
Hazels felling guilty
keeping her best quilts to sell
but Hazels on the right road
she gave and she's giving now.

we could all do a little more
streatch anouther dollar bill
and feed the hungry house the poor
we could do a little less
for the one at our address
a little less could do a whole lot more
yes, a little less could do
a whole lot more.....
