Waking early
i turn on the news
open the newspaper..
this world
seems full
of sad reminders...
parents are
killing their children..
children are
killing thir parents.
and all the while...
the war
has yet
to end.....
the price of living
goes up daily...
i struggle to find
hope in a tomorrow
full of anger
laced in fear...
Silently i wonder
why
people
let
things
happen.....

Are Ya Ready?

I'm tired of winter
and can't wait for spring
to see flowers blooming
and hear the birds sing..
I'm ready to sit
'nieth a shade tree all day
and listen to children
as they run and play....
Well it's gonna get here
(winter will go away)
But summers not all good
there are dues we must pay..
Like bugs coming out
and flying around
and poision ivy
hiding out on the ground..
there's snakes and slugs
and spiders and flies,
they all come out
with our Winter goodbyes..
insted of too cold
i'll be too hot again
I'm not complaining
(well maybe i am)
i love spring and summer
i love Autumn too
but Winter I wont miss
That much about you....

Last night i had a dream that I
woke up within a different time..
fear was but a memory
all the world was good and kind..
All the days was warm and nice
like early summer time
now and then a soft rain came
bringing rainbows and bright sunshine..
no one needed money
for all was give and take
good had overcome us all
but then i had to wake......
and when i woke i asked of God
to help me find a way
so i can find others who
hear what He has to say.
the Bible says where 2 agrees
than it shall be done..
so i am asking simply that
you be my "other one"
I want the Lord to bring us peace
a world free of pain and fear
where one by one we All agree
that peace will be right here...

Go away winter,
just leave me alone
I'm tired of being
chilled to the bone...
I want to plant flowers
and sit in the sun..
This snow and ice storms
long ago lost it's fun...
i want to open
up windows and doors..
i want to cook out
and do summer chores..
I want to go barefoot
feel the grass with my toes...
winters taken my patience
about as far as it goes..
So go away winter
(todays a great day to start)
bring out Mr Sunshine
and turn him up hot...

I've been sitting and watching
as the kids from our town
take sleds up the hill
and sleigh ride back down..
from short ones to tall ones
from young kids to old
to them a big snow storm
is white winter gold...
Theres some building snowmen
some throwing snow balls..
others building snow forts
ignoring their mothers calls..
with their nose and cheeks
a bright ruby red,
and heads that are sweating
neith the caps on their head...
They just keep on sleighing
ice skating and stuff
making snow men and snow balls
They can't get enough..
I watch their parents build fires
that glow into the night
marsh mellows are roasting
It's a beautiful sight...
Time spent together
memories kept growing old..
are often the treasures
of finding white winter gold...
