Walkin around the old house
i found a open window .
( her doors was bolted shut).
a feeling of guilt
overcame me
as i took 1 picture..
I used no flash..
i was capturing the light
from the other side..
and liked the darkness
within this space...
when i got home
i lightened the picture
And saw the Bible
laying among the ruins..
it almost frightened me..
I felt a shock.
of all things to be
among dust and ruins
within the trash.
Animals have been there
and crawled around
the filthy floors...
i did not expect
to find
a Bible there...
a broken sliver
of glass
pointed to it..
Now this picture
seems to haunt me
brings me back
again and again...
searching for
a message..
What a strange place to find a holy book.
I have known two people to find the Bible that way.
A police officer told me that in the middle of the worst wreck he had ever worked, he found a Bible, untouched by the accident. He said it changed his life ... that from then on, he never went into anything without knowing God was there with him, making a way.
A friend told me that her family lost everything in a fire when she was a young girl. The family went back to try to salvage what they could and in the middle of all the rubble, untouched and unburned, was the family Bible. Her family had a similar reaction to my police officer friend. They knew that no matter what happened next, God would be with them.
Maybe, since you found the Bible, God is telling YOU that no matter what, He is with YOU ... that He is leading you to these images?
I am biased. I think your photos and poems are inspired.
Huggggggggggggggggggz,
Taylor
I must confess...i don't know if it's a Bible or not...it is a book it seems...when i make up poems. i tend to tell "TALL" stories..this is just a poem that came to me when i saw the picture.
thanks for letting me know that it is a poem that touched you.
I've been having fun ..looking at pictures and writing what comes to me ...
